ecofabulous.com is a growing website dedicated to the
intersection of style and sustainability. Founded by style and eco-expert, Zem
Joaquin, ecofabulous was created and exists today to help navigate the constantly
expanding world of green products. ecofabulous is guided by stringent
environmental criteria and a chic design aesthetic - for many it is a design
consultant, personal shopper, authoritative voice and friend, dedicated to
finding and sharing sexy, sustainable products and services. Ecofabulous is in the
process of re-launching with an exciting, dynamic website and we NEED to hire a
Managing Editor.
If you’ve spent 2 or more years as an editor or editorial
manager, and have strong writing AND organizational skills this is a rare
opportunity for you to apply your experience. This is a company that's growing
and you'll have an impact and will play an entrepreneurial role in contributing
to strategy and product development.
Within this role, you will work closely with the Founder and
VP of Operations and Business Development to oversee this critical function
within our organization. The successful candidate will be joining a team of start-up
top performers who are passionate about what they do and who have built
successful companies previously. This position comes with a compensation
package, including stock options.
Requirements
We are seeking someone with the following key
abilities/skills:
1) Experience managing writers, editorial content and features
programs
- 1-4 years experience in the execution and/or supervision
of content development
- Significant project management experience, including
experience working directly with clients to gather required discovery
information
- Ideally you have experience managing and creating
editorial calendars and developing creative content and execution strategies
2) Education, aptitude and background
- Beginner/intermediate expertise in HTML a plus
- Ideally you have technical knowledge related directly to
executing online editorial and features
- Must be a fast learner with relevant skills
3) Communication, listening and organizational skills
- Excellent ability to communicate, listen and stay
organized
- Ability to serve as a true ambassador of our organization,
working with outside customers and partners
4) Entrepreneurial
- Interest in working for an early stage company where you
will be building out infrastructure from the ground up and will then maintain
and optimize this infrastructure over time (i.e. managing implementation)
- Focus on making decisions based on the highest return that
can be achieved for the time that you put into solving a problem
- Possess a strong work ethic and pitch-in attitude
