TRAVEL LOG
** BOSTON BECKONS **
After a sleepy week in Vermont, we decided to venture to Boston to find out why some of our friends were vying to accompany their mates on business functions in Bean Town--it couldn't just be the sweet peanuts--so we decided to investigate. Rumor had it that the siren responsible for this phenomenon was a new hotel called the XV Beacon and our savvy Easterner friends confirmed that this was the hottest address in town.
For those of us who made Boston a working trip (like yours truly) we were grateful for XV Beacon's high-speed internet access and other business conveniences. We could see why Conde Nast Traveler called the XV Beacon "One of the world's best new hotels." Their dramatic, sophisticated surroundings combined with cutting edge accoutrements for the exec made work seem effortless and, dare I say... fun. And for those on holiday, the hotel's colonial comfort
and personal service made it hard to leave the room. But check out this gorgeous place yourself:
We wouldn't have minded being holed up in our spacious,
fireplace-lit room all week but Boston's fabulous shops
beckoned and we grudgingly obeyed.
