Greetings from the Big Apple! Well, we were certainly unprepared for the unseasonably warm climes that NYC is currently boasting. Only 1 tank top and one denim skirt were packed hence the "look" has become slightly tired. So, what's a girl to do when it's 96 degrees? Our answer...let it all hang out (for more details, read below).

CELEBRITY WEDDING
Well, it looks like our local hottie Benjamin Bratt went out and got himself hitched to his gal pal Talisa Soto. Us San Franciscans will have to stop stalking Benjamin at local eateries and grocery stores. It seems as though the toothy Miss Roberts was far from this hunk's mind and lips (note picture). However, our gossip source heard that Julia has now split from her still-married boy toy Danny Moder. Could it be that Julia needs a little time on her own in order to heal from the sting of Benji's nuptials, or has her commitment phobia kicked in again? Your guess is as good as ours...

A DAY IN THE LIFE
Last week our Style Spy wrote all about Spring trends and must-haves. The pointed flat, the classic clutch, the crisp white piece...all of these items lend themselves to a balmy Spring day. Unfortunately, when the mercury starts a' risin sometimes that pulled-together look gets thrown out the window. Our gal, we'll call her TT for short, sure knows a thing or two about this topic. This week TT is in NYC, reporting live from the city's singular style scene. When preparing for her trip, our gal gathered up all of her best early Spring wares to bring. A lovely pair of pointed Gucci flats, a cashmere sweater (tank top for underneath), a denim skirt, a trench coat (April showers!)... all of the usual suspects for a quarterly jaunt to the big city. Upon arrival at JFK and greeted by misty rain, TT inwardly winked to herself, whipped out her trench coat, and felt more prepared than Martha Stewart at a canning contest.
Later that eve, after many a cocktail and a Chloe Sevigny sighting (the girl was holding court in the now unfashionable Bowery Bar and laughing with her mullet haired companion. Oh the horror!), TT hightailed a l'hotel to get some beauty rest. When she woke in the morning she could hear the words Al Roker on the TV set. Did he just say heatwave? (only 1 tank top!), humid (the careful blow out!), and sticky (smoky eyes are too winter!). Now thoroughly annoyed TT had to make do with what was available?and the weather was supposed to get progressively hotter as the week dragged on. However, being the resourceful Splendora gal that she is, TT dressed the NY part as well as she could and told us that she settled on the denim skirt, a yellow cotton sweater (tank underneath), and a pair of old school sneaks. While walking the streets of the Upper East Side the hotness began to take effect. Hair became frizzy and was pulled back, skirt was yanked upwards for maximum airflow, and sweater was removed due to profuse sweating (TT is immune to deodorant, poor thing!). Just when things could not get much worse, TT ran into her ex, see-through tank top and all (he?s seen it all before). As you can imagine, trying to maintain the coveted Marc Jacobs cool-yet-ironic look is difficult with moist armpits...maybe he didn't notice.
Although not as put together as the crisp-white-shirted, Seven-jeaned, Gucci-pumped, Louis Vuitton-bag-toting Eastsiders, TT was doing the best that she could with her current fashion arsenal. And as the day wore on TT noticed that other city dwellers were caught off guard by the sudden hotness and were in the same sweaty predicament that she was in. So as she walked along and ate her Tasti D Lite, pits a little drier, TT reveled in the fact that she had been given a lot to deal with on that 95 degree day. We commend TT on keeping her wits about her and triumphing amongst the adversity we'd like to think that it was her Splendorific attitude that pulled her through?
