WEIGHING IN
So, this is a curious pic. Now, we are never evil enough to discuss a starlet's heft, but does it not seem as though Miss Goodie Two Shoes looks a little prego? The rounded paunch does not appear to be from drinking too many Caramel Frappaccinos, but rather a little gift from a certain "close-up" with cameraman boyfriend, Danny Moder. Apparently the good girl image that Julia thinly portrays is a sham. Let's deconstruct this diabolical do-gooder, shall we?
1) Her boyfriend is married (can you say homewrecker)
2) She's not the marrying kind (delish treats like Benjamin Bratt and Dylan McDermott both marry other babes within a year of being dumped)
3) That horsy grin and humble giggle don't fool us savvy gals for one bit...she is a serious attention hog (think this year's Oscars...come to think of it, last year's too!)
4) Need we say more...I think we have covered all the bases
We think that Julia has covered all the bases too, catch our drift?

NICOLE & THE KID MAN?
Here's another totally unbelievable piece of juice. The U.K.'s Sun reported today that divorcee Nicole Kidman and arachnophobic Tobey Maguire are an item. It seems as though Mr. Lovah man has a thing for gals either much younger, or much older than him. First it was the nubile Kirsten Dunst, now it's the coltish Miss Kidman. Since Tobey spent the better half of the year scaling walls and such, perhaps the sloe-eyed sir is way into climbing things that are tall these days.

*MOTHERLY LOVE* (from last year's Journal Entry)
The mother-child relationship can sometimes be complex. It is often the central theme in Greek tragedies, not to mention psychotherapy. Lucky for us at Splendora (and a rarity we are told) we positively adore our mothers [stepmothers and mother-in-laws]. Perhaps we are in denial, hopelessly immature, or totally repressed but we honestly feel blessed that we still have a mommy, or in some cases mommies, to turn to when the chips are down.
After many (adolescent) years of discounting motherly advice, we are finally starting to embrace her words of wisdom about men, work, and life. We view our mothers as sages--women of another era who have lived to tell the story and still managed to raise pert, sophisticated children like us.
This weekend, rather than take your mother to the standard, courtesy Sunday brunch, spoil her with a gourmet picnic at the park or the beach. Bring along mementos of all the things that remind you of her--your childhood photos with her at Disneyland or at 8th grade graduation, etc., and show her how much you love and cherish her. Granted not all mothers are the same but if you are lucky enough to have a mother who is still living then it can only be to both your benefits to bond this Sunday and try to remember the time when you needed to hold her hand to cross the street.
To my mommy, my mommy-in-law, and to all the mommies who read this newsletter ... we love you.
