At last, the weekend! We're going to try our best to control our CNN, BBC, CNBC, NPR, New York Times, Washington Post, NextDraft.com and multi-blogger addiction. Since it's a beautiful 70+ degrees in San Francisco, we're going to kick off the weekend with a much needed outdoor lunch. Bring on the wine spritzers!

OSCAR WEINERS
If it wasn't for Adrien Brody--we've been singing his praises for years now and ooh that sexy shnoz, don't even get us started--the Oscars would have us bored to tears. All we can say is lucky Halle Berry for being at the right place at the right time. She and Adrien were definitely the night's big winners (not to mention Catherine Z-J if we're going to get literal). Now on to the good stuff ... are we the only ones who are sick of skinny Renee and her squinty pout? Or will you admit that you enjoyed a satisfying sigh of relief when Nicole Kidman won for Best Actress? (of course we also would have loved for JMo to win for Far from Heaven but rumor has it that she had an anti-war speech prepared that would have made Michael Moore seem conservative). Other losers of the night? Well, Michael Moore for choosing the wrong venue to vent his views; Daniel Day Lewis, major babe of yesteryear who now resembles an escaped convict with a glint of undiluted crazy in his eyes; and lastly, Julia Roberts. Did anyone else notice that this smiley megalomaniac (who tries to pass herself off as a humble country girl {newsflash: we ain't buyin' it} somehow found a way (recall her "I love my life!" when announcing Denzel's win) to insert herself into the Best Cinematography presentation...gag

MATINEE IDOLS
Is it just us, or has this cuddling twosome has been spending way-too much time in the spray-on tanning booth. The locked-at-the lips pair spent the entire Vanity Fair Oscar party deep in conversation about how pretty they are. And we must say, Ben is looking rather groomed these days. Changes include: orange skin color, lacquered hair, cutting carbs, shaved skin, inability to take hands off J.lo's ass, and the wearing of turtlenecks (and we don't mean just at Sundance). Gone are the free-wheelin' days where Ben (and Matt) rolled with babes, five o'clock shadows, and bottles of Sam Adams. Changes are perhaps a result of the wrath of La Lopez. Example numero uno: Matt has been conspicuously absent from his best bud's side. And how's this for dirt, according to an inside source, we hear that Ben had to hack a former assistant because "Jen was too much of a diva, and way too jealous of another women running his life". Can you say control freak???
