It was like Carrie Bradshaw's dream day. Massive amounts of Manolo's, cosmo's, and giddy shoe buying gals as far as the eye could see. We had a heart to heart with the master who was so gracious to receive us in the Rotunda at Neiman Marcus.

WEEKEND FORECAST BY MANOLO BLAHNIK
What to wear: Style is something that you are born with and style is freedom, a choice. Be stylish in whatever way you combine it, you can look fabulous in pieces from Target or Banana Republic, it's how you wear it.
What to foot: Manolo Blahnik Orientalia, it's 20 years old and is still a favorite. It's modern, opulent, a fantasy in gold lizard, pearls, and chiffon
What to handbag: Not a big handbag person, but if you must, make it a classic, an Hermes Kelly or Birkin
What to fashion show: Carolina Herrera, a fantastic designer who is always faithful to herself
What to see: Lost in Translation, Scarlett Johanssen is a divine young actress. I love the small young directors that cover exquisite cultures.
What to TV: Don't watch much TV, just CNN in the hotel
What to read: Checkered Past by Peter Schlesinger. Photos from a time when the young in society were so open. Pop stars today have a manufactured presence. But that Beyonce, she has presence, like Diana Ross. And J-lo is a monument.
What to listen to: The soundtrack to "In the Mood for Love", Nat King Cole is marvelous, I love the flutes!
What to make: I am a disaster in the kitchen.
What to drink: I make a wonderful Banana Daiquiri.
Where to drink it: Anywhere really. Al fresco. In Sicily!
Where to vacation: Sicily is a dream, the mountains especially.
Secret Weapon: I'm not superstitious, I just think positively.
Outrageous Goal: To do the best work I can. The best is yet to come.

GOSSIP RE-CAP: BENNIFER NOPEZ
We're not going to taunt you with "we told you so's" about La Lopez and Hairpiece. Actually, it's a rather unfortunate turn of events. Gone is the possibility of outrageous wedding photos followed by a well documented demise involving secret rendez vous, rap stars, and strippers. But Holy Moses, this split is tantamount to a divorce! Many have been implicated in the cancellation; Matt Damon; Ben's mom; Ben's frigid feet... How can we not feel bad for poor, vulnerable JLo when she has seriously put herself on the (tacky) line for this beau? Her list of overexposed moments includes: the moving ballad "Dear Ben," the dateline interview where domestic Jen cooks dinner for Ben while promoting "Gigli," her incessant grabby hands, and the recent launch of the new perfume, "Still Jennifer Lopez," which features a faux engagement ring on the bottle. She also wears her own 6.1 carat rip-off in the ad campaign. Let's hope all this drama is another publicity stunt because if they break up for real, what other couple will we trash every week in Friday For Play? Demi and Ashton? Boring.
What they're saying...

FOODIE EVENT OF THE YEAR
What do Hubert Keller from Fleur-de-Lys, Laurent Manrique from Aqua, Jean Alberti from Kokkari, Bruno Davaillon from BeauCoup, Ola Fendert at Chez Papa, and many of San Francisco's amazing chefs have in common? Well, in addition to being talented and gorgeous they will all be serving up savories alongside fantastic vintners at A Ferry Tale Evening, a benefit to support the ALS Patient Care and Research Center at UCSF (Lou Gehrig's disease). If you love food and wine you cannot miss this event! General admission is $150 per person, which is a bargain considering the "supper echelon" you will be privy to and the fact that it benefits a very special and worthy cause.
