Splendora Newsletter, September 26 2003
|
Reporting live from a suite at Ian Schrager's Paramount Hotel are Gina, Amy, and Karen a.k.a. Splendora's Marketing Muskateers. We've blanketed just about every inch of the island to find more goodies for you and have been getting red carpet treatment everywhere we go. We LOVE New York and to our delight New York LOVES Splendora. We've had seven course meals every night, sampled dozens of desserts (carried to the table by the chef himself) and have consumed more cheese than the state of Wisconsin. We've also met wonderful people and are cooking up exciting deals to make Splendora--well--even more ... Splendora.

GANGS OF NEW YORK
Three girls. Five days. Twenty-two appointments. Thirty eight pairs of shoes. We wined, we dined, we ran all over town trying to make sense out of the subway system, and we fibbed our way through velvet roped night clubs. New York has been amazing. We've gotten props from big players around town who love the website (we have just finished our first pass of revamping NYC) and because many have asked about "just who writes the newsletter," we thought we'd clear up the mystery: the answer is Team KG. Writer numero uno is Karen Bard, our fabulous Director of PR who had enough chutzpah to jump in front of Barbara Walters as she made her way past our table at Lupa and blurted the first thing that came into her head, "Barbara, thank you for everything you've done for women!" (see Barbara's name tag on K's forehead above). Next we have yours truly, Gina Pell, Editor-in-Chief and guest writer when FFP goes on vacation. I am a self-described pampering visionary, conoisseur of cocktails, and tinkerer of ungrammatical metaphors and dangling participles. Now you may be asking yourself "Who's the hot blonde?" Well that, ladies and gentlemen, is Miss Amy Hudson our Executive VP (aka the mature one in the group) and the inspiration for phrases like "looking for the best never goes out of style" in our collateral material. We're headed back to SF in a few hours armed with our Travel Scrabble and a stack of November fashion issues. But we'll be back in a blink when Splendora announces its content partnership with a national fashion magazine.

Celebrity & Style Watch
Now we know we said that BS had a fashion meltdown in this knit number, but lo and behold, she cleaned herself up and squeezed into the above mentioned Yves St. Laurent dress! Now, we have first hand experience with said dress and there is certainly some double sided tape that must be involved while wearing this hot number. Or, it could be held up with an unnaturally perky pair...but who's to say? All we know is that our version is longer, B must have gotten hers shortened to show off her cheerleader gams.
