May is tomorrow, how amazing is that? Summer is on its way and we're counting down the days until our trip to Tuscany (pasta, wine, 11th century castle). Bon voyage to our friends who are off to the Gumball Rally, a sportscar race beginning in Paris then down in to Madrid, down into Morocco, Marrakech, back over water through Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix F1 race and finishing in Cannes for the Film Festival. Look out for photos and a report from this race in the next few weeks. Should be fabulous!

SHERYL CROW
Although she did not follow the Dangerous Liaisons theme at the Met's ultra-glam Costume Institute Gala, Sheryl looked totally f.i.n.e.. Flaky fashionsta's take note, the root of the word lovely is love, and looks like Sheryl is in something deep because girlfriend looks totally hot. Loving Mr. Lance and his cycling ways have transformed Sheryl into one buff gal. Remember, the couple that "works out" together, stays together.

DANCING QUEEN
For many month's the Splendora daily workout was comprised of Dance Dance Revolution video game challenges. The obsession began when Splendora's head honcho discovered DDR at Pier 39 and subsequently danced to her heart's content for the next 4 hours. So obsessed, she bought the home video game version and would stay up until 1am, training to beat every 8 year-old in town. Although we tried to challenge her, she whupped us with her radical rhythm and became amazingly toned in the process, making us belive that video games make you skinny (we want to patent the "Video Game Diet"). But the real moral of the story is that our favorite dancing queen Britney is obviously getting in on the action, albeit a few years late on the trend tip. We inquire, are Brit's DDR sessions being translated into hot dance moves for her latest tour? If so, Gina could totally dance backup.

SPLENDORA HALL OF FAME 2
A place in the Splendora Hall of Fame is granted only to those fearless, tenacious shoppers who devote 200% to getting what they want. Our next inductee into the Splendora Hall of Fame is the very fabulous, very persistent Jan Genovese in Los Angeles who scored this incredible pink lily brooch from Ina in New York's "SATC" sale (The abbreviation for those of you who are confused is for that legenday show that used to star Sarah Jessica Parker. I'd spell it out but it would knock this newsletter off the charts with the spam filters.)
Jan did not score this pin by standing in line for 2 days. In fact, this shopping genius negotiated this hard earned deal from her swank LA environs high above the smog. After reading about the sale in the Post, Jan got on the horn and called Ina's in New York. Undeterred by the terse salesperson who was understandably distracted by the gobble gobble of the crowd, Jan convinced the woman to take a look around and describe a few gems that were left over. The woman actually did and she described this pin and, amid the chaos of shoppers, took the time to write down Jan's Amex number. Not yet satisfied, Jan called her NY stylist friend Gary to drop by the store to give her a second opinion. Unflappable by nature, Gar called back and said, "Yeah it's okay." So Jan thought, well for $75 I'll take the chance. But as you can see, the pin was even more fabulous than she imagined. And for a small amount of money and a hefty amount of chutzpah, Jan has a treasured memento from every girl's favorite show and a shopping story to pass on to her heiresses.
