Today is a fabulous day not only because the sun is shining in San Francisco but because the movie "Troy" premieres today and we're taking the afternoon off to see it (consider it research for next week's movie review).

RALLY THE VOTE
Did you know that 22 million women on their own did not vote in the last presidential election? Voting together, women on their own, could determine who wins and loses the upcoming election. On Tuesday May 18th at the Cowell Theatre at Fort Mason, along with Arianna Huffington, Susie Tompkins Buell, and Joan Blades, we will be using our voices to rally the vote. Together we can change the course of America * This event is free to the public, for more info click below.

GUMBALL RALLY WINNER
Just because you win an Oscar, wear Porsche Sunglasses, and drive a 911 Turbo does not mean that you can win a jet-setting international car race. However, in the case of stonecold fox Adrien Brody, apparently you can. The 3,000-mile Euro-centric marathon of driving began at the Eiffel Tower and finished up in star-studded Cannes. Even though he almost did not make it (like a certain Ferarri-driving twosome we know who took a 2 day detour to party in Barcelona) Adrien Brody beat out 200 other sporting dandys- a miracle considering this was a guy who sold his car in order to pare down his life while preparing for his award-winning roll in The Pianist.

MOVIE REVIEW: NEW YORK MINUTE
There are two of us at Splendora who would like to be reincarnated as The Olsen Twins in our next lives (hint: G&K). We even have their Allure cover tacked on to the inspiration board in our office. There was a time when we resisted the charms of these adorable button nosed, blue eyed blondes with a billion dollar empire (like when they appeared on Full House or made the sing-a-long videos). But after watching a few of their "adventure" movies (Holiday in the Sun, Winning London, etc) we were hooked. These girls are as wholesome, sweet, and fun as it gets and the movies are actually modern day morality tales for tweens. Our point: don't believe the negative hype and one star reviews. New York minute is the best teen movie of the season. Just ask my 30-something year old sister and my 9-year old niece. Both giggled with delight while watching the zany Big Apple hijinx of M-K and A.

GETTING SASSY IN SWEDEN
Before you run out and buy your weekend stash of tabloids we are here to satisfy your paparazzi penchant with a juicy shot of Britney and new BF Kevin. This pic is pretty PG compared to the others that reveal the two in a tight clinch while lounging in a park. Looks like this twosome took their infamous beach date across international waters; this photo was snapped before a recent show in Stockholm.
