BEYOND
KHAKI
Remember when seeing SJP used to fill you with
something you might call joyful admiration? She had that rare combination
of huggable cuteness with equal parts triple crown clotheshorse. She was
like a Jennifer Aniston with style or a Mary Kate minus the drug habit.
And then came the bewildering Gap campaign splashing her face across
billboards, banners, buses, tv commercials, and print ads. Like we're
supposed to believe that this fashion icon who made Manolo Blahnik (and
his $500 shoes) a household name is suddenly content in a corduroy blazer
and generic jeans. It's like a slap in the face to all of us suckers who
worked up the courage to spend a whole month's rent on a single outfit.
The good news is that Sarah has just signed a two year contract with HBO
to develop and produce new projects. We're hoping for an alternative to
Desperate Housewives.

FROM PUBLIC ENEMY TO
PUBLIC HUMILIATION
Well,
we just have to cover it. The poor dear is obviously starved for
attention. So here's the breaking news: Brigitte Nielsen just got married
for the sixth time. After towering over Sly and mixing it up with some
other unremarkable gents, the great Dane has finally settled on a
twenty-six year old man in a diaper. Guess that's the end of long lastin'
Flava Flav. It looks like even with that big clock around his neck, he
didn't know what time it was with the cheese danish. It's too bad because
we really bought their romance on VH1. Sheesh, if you can't find true love
on reality TV what's left--late night "chat" infomercials with Evangeline
Lilly?
