| Coast to coast, Splendora loves to par-tay. Again we want to say thanks to all of the NYC VIPs who came to our Chambers Hotel shindig last week, and also a hearty merci to the legions of Neiman's shoppers who came out in droves for the Private Shopping night. With the holiday season upon us we expect to be toasting (and shopping) for many weeks to come. |
| THE STAVROS SWITCH  Is the "Stavros Switch" a new dance move (no, that would be called the "Stavros Twitch")? Is it an international political conspiracy? A new imported energy drink? No, it's actually a movement that is taking young Hollywood by storm. Greek billionaires are like the new foreign-language film foxes (Gael, Olivier, Mambo Kings era Antonio), everyone wants a piece of them. They have more money than those paltry actor folk, plus they don't have to relinquish 10% to the Ari Golds of the world. Geez louise, these Mediterranean boys are driving those Robertson-trolling girls mad! Mary-Kate lost Stav to Paris but in this pic it looks like MK is putting on her best, "Stavros eat-your-Spanikopita-heart out, I'm just as hott as Paris" pose. Upswept hair, hand on hip, copious amounts of jewelry, almost-transparent gown, good-girl cross. Only difference is that MK's lips are pursed while Paris' mouth is always agape so she can effectively offset her wonky eye. If we were keeping score in this Olympian-style boyfriend stealing contest we would declare MK the gold medal winner; she keeps her mouth shut, she'll up the P.R. ante and grace the cover of W in January, plus, scrappy fighters like Lohan and Richie have her back.

| MARRYING MANIA  While just a few years back, child star and then 17-year-old Macaulay Culkin startled the masses by wedding his equally juvenile sweetheart, today's barely legal stars have turned marrying young into a haute occasion. Pre-Kevin, Britney often voiced her want to snag a man and live a domestic lifestyle. Frankie Muniz, all of 19, popped the question this summer, and now gossip cliques are gabbing that Lindsay just can't wait to walk down the aisle with Jared Leto. While puppy love can be enchanting, we question the motives of these youngsters. Per MSNBC, some of La Lohan's prime reasons to wed include the desire to "shock everybody" and spite her oft-engaged but never hitched friend Paris Hilton. Our advice to LoLeto? Spend a couple more years making the rounds at Element before you make a lifelong commitment. We all know how fickle Hollywood romances can be, and messy public divorce proceedings are soooo not hot. Vaughniston too? |
