blog![]() ![]() What to Wear: Lilli Pulitzer Glenna Halter Cable $158 Lilly Pulitzer prints can sometimes scare me. But the Glenna Cable Halter with a scarf tie is the perfect top for your summer white jeans.
What to Wear: Lover Santa Fe Slouchy Dress I am absolutely in love with the clothing label Lover. This Santa Fe Slouchy dress is not within my budget whatsoever but a girl can still dream right? Check out the entire line.
What to Read: "Paris 1962: Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior the Early Collections" Though I diligently try to keep up on my reading of the each month's Vogue, Bazaar, W, Nylon, and daily WWD it is important to remember the classics. You always need them for future style reference. I am currently brushing up on my fashion education and getting inspired by the Parisian Masters of couture with Paris 1962: Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior, the Early Collections by Jerry Schatzberg. Cover to cover it is full gorgeous black and white imagery of the elegant handiwork of the two legends and the lovely gamine ladies they dressed to define modern chic.
What to Wear: Etro-esque Skirts for a Song I love the look of the folksy, rick rack mini skirts that traipsed down the runway at Etro for spring. I know that the world does not revolve around Manhattan but if you are in the city or plan to visit this summer you must hit up the woman sets up a little stand in the ultra mini flea market on Houston at Sullivan in Soho every weekend. It's such a great find to recreate this look on a budget. She sells the most adorable Etro-esque mini skirts for $10. I already bought three, one in a great acid neon chartreuse, a khaki, and a bright indigo blue.
What to Wear: Jean Pierre Braganza I am the first to admit that I can be pretty predictable when it comes to dress selection. I have heard all of my shopping mates blurt out at least once "this is such a Cerise dress". I guess I should feel proud that I have made such a styistic impression on my friends and have even inspired them to coin such a term but my inner stylist is terrified of such predictability. Well true to form out of the entire, amazing oragami laden, sculpture rich collection from Jean Pierre Braganza I couldn't help but post this picture of a total Cerise dress. There are so many pieces that I would love to try on for size; a grey exaggerated hour glass skirt, the intricate oragami bralet body-con dress, the shocking pink cigarette pants, but I know deep down that this drapey mini shift is the piece for me.
