With Congress recently having determined that a quarter-cup of tomato paste counts as a vegetable in school lunches, we are more than a touch concerned about the diets of young ones these days. In the face of such partially-hydrogenated habits, Chef Ludo Lefebvre is launching a web series in conjunction with Bugaboo titled "LudoBabyBites," aimed at "promot[ing] healthy eating for modern families." Tune in starting December 6th for wholesome meal time tips from the fiery Frenchman.

With pumpkins abound at the local farmers market, it would be a shame to do little more than reserve the gourds for carving around Halloween time. Typtophan- and indulgence-induced food comas are common after effects of a bountiful Thanksgiving dinner. While our editors fully support the pursuit of food-related hedonism, it's also nice to balance out heapings of stuffing, cream, and butter with lighter fare. Food & Wine, our go-to source for culinary guidance, has collected a smattering of healthy recipes that make up for caloric lack with amazing flavors. Maple-Ginger-Roasted Vegetables with Pecans will definitely make an appearance on our holiday table.

Culinary trends, like all trends in sun drenched La-La Land, undergo such rapid turnover that it's difficult to know whether foams, fusion, or food trucks are what's hot during any given week. Add one more non-expletive "F" to that list: fonuts. Baked and ostensibly "healthier" than their deep-fried counterparts, the goods at this sweet shop are no less tasty than Krispy Kremes. In fact, we think they're even more lip lickingly good after having sampled four varieties: maple-bacon, strawberry, caramel, and gluten-free pumpkin. Located on buzzy 3rd Street, make sure to stop by after shopping at Satine or grabbing lunch at Joan's on Third.
