Last night's Fashion Week Live event in San Francisco was a hot scene. Our evening started off with a bang. As we drove up to the VIP valet area, I spied Mr. Tyson Beckford talking on the telephone. But both Gina and Amy said, "nuh, uh, that's not him, what would he be doing here?" and I was all, "wait and see, homies, wait and see." After we sashayed through the door and mingled with the throngs of SF fashion-lovers in attendance, we made our way to our seats. Truly, the event was impeccably produced. The runway set-up could easily have been mistaken for the hallowed tents of Bryant Park. All of San Francisco's social royalty was in attendance, sitting front row, natch. And from the designer world, both Peter Som and Julie Chaiken were on hand to see their creations on the runway. The catwalk talent was top notch and included industry workhorse Naomi Campbell, gamine Gemma Ward, Erin Wasson, Alek Wek, Jessica Stam, Trish Goff and of course, lo an behold, catwalking in all of his tuxedo-ed glory, Tyson Beckford. He truly received the warmest applause of the evening. Literally, audible gasps could be heard from the ladies in the crowd as he sauntered down the runway. One friend even said of Mr. B, "Mommy like." Oh yeah, we like indeed. Unfortunately we did not get to swill champagne with Naomi and Tyson backstage, but the vision of him will be burned into our collective memories 4-ever.
