What to Note: Splendora Covers NY Fashion Week: September 5-12

We're ecstatic! We've sent one of our editors to NY this season to report straight from the Spring '09 Runway. Stay tuned, because starting this Friday our entire blog will be dedicated to up-to-the-day Runway Reviews and pictures of our favorite shows. Don't forget to check out our NY Fashion Week section as well, where we'll be dishing on Spring's hottest trends, from beauty and beyond, as well as our favorite NY Hotspots. Happy Fashion Week!

What to Note: Papyrus Stationery

Whatever happened to hand written letters? E-mail is what happened. Make it a point this week to get personal again. Hand write a few letters to your friends on some fun and sassy stationery. They will love the fact that you took the time to hand write them a letter. E-mails are everywhere. Be different and original, send at least three out today.

What to Note: TSA's Blog

One would imagine a blog from TSA to be dry, curmudgeonly stuff. But Evolution of Security, the TSA blog, is actually quite entertaining--full of myth-busting, interesting stories, and responses to questions and grievances submitted by readers (something they heavily encourage). The bloggers, who are actual TSA employees, are open and friendly, and on a good day, aren’t afraid to poke fun at themselves--or give props to those who do it for them. Open communication, a sense of humor, and a progressive approach—who knew?

What to Note: Flower Print Gift Tags

Don't get me wrong, I love presents, especially wrapped ones, but something annoys me when the 'card/tag' is a folded up piece of excess wrapping paper. I even find myself doing this in times of urgency. That's why I was psyched to find these adorable flower printed gift tags. The same shape is offered in an array of prints, for those less into flowers and more into graphic prints, the envelope print is another favorite.

What to Note: Frankie Morello

As an editor and writer I am constantly on the look out for new, or at least new-to-me designers. This weekend I came across an oddly intriguing ad while catching up on my magazines from across the pond . To become fully acquainted, like any good sleuth, I promptly Googled and found myself in the twisted pop-y world of fashion hyperbole that is Frankie Morello. The SS08 collection is laden with references to Speed Racer, Amy Winehouse, and Esther Williams all done up in a Cheryl Tieg's in the 70's palette of oranges, pale pinks, purples, and beiges and Tippy Hedron in The Birds blues, greys, black and bone. At first, it looks alot like the "SATC Insane Outfits" slideshow---a larger than your head corsage here, an oversized Sandra Dee full skirt there--- but when broken down into pieces the whole line is simply wearable and undoubtebly fun.
