Found: A hip indie flick in a summer of super cool blockbusters. "The Wackness" opening on July 3rd looks to be the nostalgic relief away from all the movie star shine. It follows a young New Yorker in the summer of 1994, and to help tell his story, the film makers put together an amazing soundtrack. Most of the songs by great hip-hop artists come straight out of 94': "The World is Yours" by Nas, "Flava in Your Ear"by Craig Mack. But slightly older classic summer songs: "Just a Friend" by Biz Markie, and "Summertime" by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince, are also included. The movie and the soundtrack are perfect to add to my warm weather and slushie (Cherry Limeade, yum) combo.
