What to Read: A Thousand Splendid Suns

The Kite Runner is one of the best books I've ever read. So I was eager to dive into Khaled Hosseini's latest novel A Thousand Splendid Suns. I started reading on Monday evening... I finished last night. All day yesterday I was just itching to pick it up and when 4:30pm rolled around I stopped working and started reading. It's a heart-wrenching tale of mothers and daughters and the plight of women in Afghanistan. Stirring. Heartbreaking. Emotional. Enlightening. Grab a box of kleenex and settle in for an incredible story.

Me too!

I loved the Kite Runner too!  it was the first book I've read that gave me any human insight into the history and people of Afghanistan.  Some of my friends who've read it were critical of it ~ which always irritates me because I loved it.  Now -- I'm interested in checking out his latest!
