While we're all addicted to the electronic planners/calendars on our crackberries and iPhones, what if you forget your phone at home?? What would one do?? The horror! Warning: This post may be fueled by my recent Alan Alda obsession. But with that said, The Four Seasons is a must-see flick. Originally released in 1981, this film follows the close-knit relationship of three couples who despite their constant bickering, decide to spend every holiday together, four times a year. You have to filter through a lot of screaming, nagging and analysis but in the end this film hits home and makes you appreciate the importance of good friends, and a good vacation.

All my boyfriend and I really wanted for Christmas this year was a couple days away, away from the TV, the neurotic family, the over-eating, the pressure to buy presents. With family only 500 miles away, and "in-laws" in New Jersey celebrating Christmas with family we don't really know, this year seemed like a great time to escape. We spent our two days away camping at Big Basin State Park in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and I'd recommend this place to anyone. Maybe not during the cold of winter, unless you're insane like us and enjoy staying locked up in a tent cabin reliant on the warmth of a wood burning stove. The tent cabins come with your own indoor stove, two double platform beds, a good size table, elevation and proper venting. They're not cheap (when it comes to camping), but I have a feeling your money will be going to a much better place than if you opt to spend a night at the...say....Motel 6. If traveling during the on-season, make sure to book in advance; but if you're thinking of a place to get away next year during Christmas, no reservation necessary. The greatest part: we got all that we wanted for Christmas, no credit cards required.

We apologize for our lack of Mayle posts lately, we've been too busy swimming in our own pool of fashion tears at the mere thought of Mayle's final season, sniff sniff. But we're fighting through it, and proclaiming our love for this beautiful Mirabelle Dress. It may be 695 bucks, but just think of it as a collector's piece--something you can share with your children someday. Alright, a tad dramatic, we know.

As a 15+ year vegetarian, I'll be the first to say (with an educated voice I must add) that vegan footwear isn't the easiest thing to find. I know I know, I've sang her praise countless times on this blog, but it's time to reiterate: Stella McCartney's chic vegan shoes are the best. These Brown Boots are testament.
