What to Listen: "The Wackness" Soundtrack

Found: A hip indie flick in a summer of super cool blockbusters. "The Wackness" opening on July 3rd looks to be the nostalgic relief away from all the movie star shine. It follows a young New Yorker in the summer of 1994, and to help tell his story, the film makers put together an amazing soundtrack. Most of the songs by great hip-hop artists come straight out of 94': "The World is Yours" by Nas, "Flava in Your Ear"by Craig Mack. But slightly older classic summer songs: "Just a Friend" by Biz Markie, and "Summertime" by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince, are also included. The movie and the soundtrack are perfect to add to my warm weather and slushie (Cherry Limeade, yum) combo, definitey not wack.

What to Shoe: Chanel "Miami Vice" Sandal

I'll admit that I'm a wuss when it comes to guns. But...as with all things Chanel, specifically the 2009 Resort Collection...these are the kind of guns I can warm up too. Thanks to Karl for making me want to overcome my scaredy cat fear in the most fashionable way!

What to Watch: My Blueberry Nights

blueberry nightsNorah Jones is an actress? Well, in Wong Kar-wai's upcoming movie My Blueberry Nights, she takes her turn at thespian glory. The film opened last year's Cannes Film Festival, and the critical movie crowd approved of Norah's acting chops. The story revolves around her character Elizabeth's journey across the States in search of answers to love queries. A simple plot, but the fun comes in her encounters with different personalties played by amazing actors, including Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz, and the one I look forward to seeing most, Chan Marshall, a.k.a Cat Power. Mark your calendars, Norah and Cat make their acting debuts February 13th.

What to Accessory: Bottega Veneta Zip Around Wallet

The list of classic handbags I'd love to own is extensive: Hermes Birkin, Marc Jacobs Stam, YSL Downtown Tote, and anything by Bottega Veneta. Here is a gorgeous little wallet by the latter that, while not a carry-all, still has the traditional woven leather construction that the brand is famous for. The contrasting matte and shine leather make for a sophisticated wallet that is perfect for everyday use and special occasions, too. I'm checking Bottega off my list right now!

They add instant style to basic outfits so that you don't have to overthink wardrobe combinations. These Mary Janes by Nicholas Kirkwood do just that, juxtaposing architectural design against rich navy silk. The stacked leather heel is grounded with a rubber base, and a flecked bronze bottom imparts some shine - a hidden treasure detail for you to know and (maybe) point out.
