What to Makeup: Shu Uemura Tri Color Pencil

I don't give an eff what Punxsutawney Phil says on Saturday. I'm ready for spring, and even if the weather doesn't agree I'll create a virtual season change with my makeup routine. Shu Uemura's Tri Color Pencil in Aqua Flow combines soft blue and green tones for a fresh burst of color on the lids with easy glide-on application. Gorgeous! Am I right, or am I right? Bing!

What to Gift: Hussein Chalayan for YOOX

The clothing I'm mentioning here might be better suited as a gift for my brother, but maybe, just maybe, the smallest size of this tee would work on my female frame? (I'm thinking belted mini dress or tunic.) C'mon, why do only guys get to bask in the discounted genius of Hussein Chalayan for YOOX? The small selection of clothes Chalayan created for the eStore still don't come cheap, but they are considerably cheaper than his signature label. Hopefully the beauty of Chalayan's impeccable design won't be lost on the guy you choose to buy them for.

What to Gift: Vintage Maps

Splendora Karen has always been a bearer of creative gifts. Recently, Jennifer and I were the lucky birthday recipients of vintage city maps featuring some of our favorite destinations (San Francisco/Tokyo and New York/London, respectively). They are such a clever, thoughtful, and personal present for world travelers and those who dream about far away places. Find a selection of maps here.

What to Note: Whimsy Press Wrapping Paper

That crisply wrapped packages bring me pleasure should come as no surprise. After all, I have openly confessed my nerdy obsession with neatness (I was the twelve-year-old with a card catalog, remember?). Paper by Whimsy Press seems like it was made for this enthusiastic, mad wrapping gift giver. There's gender-specific "Dude Wrap" for bunny pattern-adverse guys, a selection of "Oh So Current" modern prints, and a "Best Friends" line for, you know, the obvious recipient. My favorite: Gritty in Pink, an uber femme paper with sinister-looking skulls.

What to Handbag: Angel Jackson Cherry Python Clutch

Angel Jackson adheres to the "more is more" philosophy of handbag construction. Why stick with simple when you can be brash? Throwing together various swank traits - Python! Patent! Cherry Red! - is how this sturdy frame clutch was formed. And yet, despite this unabashed showiness, the bag works. The perfect Valentine's dinner accessory, eh?

What to Wear: ThreeAsFour for Gap

You've gotta hand it to GAP. They have a way of attracting today's most avant garde, free-thinking designers to create capsule collections that even women living far from the busiest fashion-forward metropoles will gobble up. Following in the footsteps of Doo.Ri and Thakoon comes a collaboration with ThreeAsFour. No specific launch date has been announced, but our sartorial radars are up and on high alert in anticipation.

What to Wear: AVION feminin

Femininity takes flight with the launch of AVION feminin, a label from Parsons Design alumnus Katherine Tsina. Tsina, who earned undergraduate degrees in English and Contemporary Dance from U.C. Berkeley, has perfected the art of marrying romanticism and grace into streamlined separates and column gowns. For Spring 2008, Tsina plays with floral prints and simple solid dresses, extending her dance sensibility into her clothing. Tiny and strategically placed pleats, flattering flared cuts on jackets, and across the body draping turn could've-been basics into extraordinary attire.

What to Beauty: MOR Black Cherry Shea Body Butter

We were first alerted to MOR's amazing body products when Jessica came into the office bearing a smörgåsbord of hand soaps, cleansers, and oils for Splendora girls to test out. The results of our experiment were stellar: smooth, moisturized skin prevailed and not a trace of greasy residue was left in our bathtime wake. The Black Cherry Shea Body Butter is a cocktail of yummy scents and ingredients; olive oil and cocoa butter to soften, with a velvety fruit finish. Gimmie, gimmie MOR, we're inclined to sing.

What to Shoe: Derek Lam Audrey Flats

I'm not sure if these purple patent flats were named after the petite star of Roman Holiday, but they are beautiful enough to bear her name and epitomize Hepburn's modest, refined style. D'Orsay cutouts on the side rather than the toe of each shoe give them an interesting shape. In fact, they remind me of a bright yellow pair of Louboutins that I fell in love with many seasons ago but sadly never purchased. Don't think twice about adding these to your closet.

What to Accessory: Lovegrove & Repucci Concerto Table

My mind is swirling, intoxicated by the design wonder that is this dining room furnishing. Lovegrove & Repucci's Concerto Table has a slick white enamel finish, is shaped like an elegant baby grand piano, and contains a docking slot for your iPod in addition to 50 watt speakers that emit high quality sound. Prop up the middle portion if you'd like - for what purpose I'm not certain, but man does it look cool! Play hostess and classical conductor when friends come by for dinner parties, you Martha Stewart maestra.
