What to Note: Le Labo Ambrette 9

My olfactory receptors have been overly excited ever since I spritzed some Ambrette 9 on my wrists when I was at Barney’s in New York last month. I am historically allergic to practically any fragrance, but Le Labo is mixed fresh and dated so there is no need for preservatives. When I returned home I ordered the light scent and it arrived with personalized printing on the bottle. When I’ve finished it, I will take it back to one of the exclusive locations and simply have it refilled. Now that smells like a good idea to me!

What to Care About: Indoor Air Quality

Both of my children had severe asthma (like many children in the U.S. now) and I was able to eradicate it by creating a healthy home (you can read about it in the Healthy Child, Healthy World book). It is easier and less expensive than you think to create a green living environment. You can do one-stop shopping at Spring on Polk Street in San Francisco or search the web (ecofabulous.com and Healthychild.org are reliable resources).

What to Beauty: Pangea Organics EcoCentric Line

For the most moisturized, healthy lips try Pangea Organics EcoCentric LipCare in Egyptian Fennel with grapefruit & sweet orange, and the line's Organic Japanese Matcha Tea Mask for baby smooth skin (great for those who have more sensitive skin). The line is available at most health stores and now at many conventional stores as well. The company is considered a leader because of the integrity and efficacy of the products and the simple, down-to-earth (literally) packaging is a plus-- the boxes are not only recyclable and biodegradable, but some are even plantable so you’ll be getting a bonus of usable herbs! Smokin’.

What to Shoe: Mumbai Flats by Terra Plana

Terra Plana's Mumbai Flats are exceedingly comfortable with their chromium-free leather is chromium-free so the soles won’t abrade anything nasty (unless you stepped in something) and are extremely flattering on most feet. I also love the light periwinkle hue…it reminds me of Splendora 1.0.

What NOT to Wear: Chromium Dyed Leather

The process is disturbingly toxic, so opt for vegetable tanned hides for your leather goods. You'll need to do a little research but it is well worth it! Jason Lewis only buys the more eco-friendly alternative, which is ever so sexy.
