Sisters Natasha Sunshine (owner and head stylist) and Daniela Bycoffe (marketing and PR guru) describe the salon as a blend of Japanese and British décor: “the Viceroy meets Memoirs of a Geisha.” The bright and airy locale is clean and light, with white chairs and dark wood fixtures punctuated by vibrant pink and green accents. We adore the chic kimono style robes (offered in petite and tall sizes, so they actually fit). As a self-proclaimed hair therapy spa, this modestly-sized salon provides their fabulous clients with stylish cuts and color without sacrificing healthy locks. Color junkies rejoice at the discovery of Byu-ti’s botanical hair care line. The salon offers custom-blended conditioners and amazing concoctions called Byu-ti Blenders that take care of hair woes. Over-processed? No problem. Fine, dull, or frizzy hair? A thing of the past. Enjoy a relaxing head massage and the application of a customized Byu-ti Blender then peruse the stellar assortment of magazines and gossip rags as the Micromist ultrasonic steam machine opens hair follicles, allowing the Byu-ti Blender to penetrate hair. Once your tresses have been blown-out and styled, head five blocks west to the breathtaking Pacific Ocean. You can’t go wrong with a gentle ocean breeze blowing through beautiful, healthy hair.
