Du Vin is an entire sensory experience. Upon entrance through the cobblestone courtyard, there's a very European feel to it all. Wine connoisseurs will recognize at once their vast selection of wines from hard-to-find regions such as Jurancon, Buzet, and Provence Roses. The staff, lead by Frenchman Rene Averseng, claims to sample nearly every bottle before it hits the shelf. We believe it: they can tell you a story about almost every bottle--its family fall-outs, its political background, the passion of its maker. They will also suggest outstanding bottles of wine from the South of France for any price, even $20--and whether it should be served with a Roquefort or Bucheron. We went with Rene's recommendation of Chateauneuf-du-Pape and loved it.
