This airy, open-plan studio with flower-filled balconies makes fitness feel almost spiritual. Harmony Studio is decorated in soft blues and yellows, with filmy silk curtains that billow through open French doors. The atmosphere is friendly and soothing; even during peak hours, no more than five instructors are working with clients on the reformer, trap table, and floor mats. The clientele ranges from the fit and limber to people with sports injuries, for which Pilates is excellent therapy. Owners/instructor Karen has developed a certified team of instructors, all of which are trained in varying forms of kinesthetics. Before or after the hour-long sessions, clients are encouraged to do 15-20 minutes of aerobic exercise in the front room, which contains a cross-trainer, treadmill, recumbent bike, and free weights.
