Like the South of France, Herve Leger is elegant, uncomplicated, and expensive. A crown jewel of Sunset Plaza, the fashion-forward boutique reclines, airy and fragrant as a Riviera pied-à-terre. Leger's designs are flawless--invariably, body-skimming classics in an array of unusual fabrics, colors, and textures. Still, however interesting the fabrics and hues are, Leger clearly believes women should wear designs--designs shouldn't wear women. We fawned over the selection of sleek bathing suits, adorable sandals, sorbet spaghetti-strap sheaths, and classic black and white evening gowns, all the while dreaming of sojourning somewhere spectacular with an armoire full of the famous Cruise Collection. Whether you are drawn to classic lines or youthful whimsy, an ensemble of Leger's will easily set you back 1K, but ahhh, c'est la vie.
