Established in 1955, this old Hollywood hangout is still having its heyday. After skimming the list of approximately 75 drink specialties, we see why the crowds keep coming back for more. We loved the fun Scorpion Bowl and all five gallons of its exotic rums and fresh fruit juices. After one of these, our bartender suggested an old-school favorite no longer found on the menu, the Queen's Park Swizzle, three ounces of different rums mixed with fresh fruit juices. The standing room-only crowd is a fun mix of celebrities and hipsters, all fighting over the select few booths located near the bar. With tiki huts, canoes, and bamboo shoots strewn haphazardly throughout, Trader Vic's is an island retreat complete with chatty waitstaff and umbrellas in the drinks.
