Coffee drinkers are a loyal band. They'll either love the environmentally cognizant brews or positively hate them. However, long lines attest to the fact that followers of Urth are not few. L.A. seems to worship the frothy lattes and silky iced soy mochas. Teas are also organically grown and delicious by the cup or by the box--steeped at home. As for the food, it is some of the heartiest fare around. The quiches are rich and delicious, and the desserts! Everything from the pies to the cheesecake is baked from scratch; any experienced sweet tooth will taste the difference. If Urth is too hopping when you swing by to eat, skip the crowds, grab a bag of organic beans, and promise yourself that you'll be back when all of L.A. isn't trying to crowd into the cafe.
