Billed as the "European Way of Tanning," Sunpoint draws devotees as far away as Chelsea. The owner, Heike Muschik, operates five other tanning salons throughout Germany. This facility uses a unique bed scheduling method where clients buy a Sun Cash card; tanning sessions are purchased and then deducted from the debit card with each visit. The salon offers eight tanning beds of varying levels of intensity with names like Tropical and Sun Capsule. Two specialty booths are available, including a standing booth to tan those hard to reach places and one designed for face tanning. Striving to become a one-stop shop in the neighborhood, the salon recently began offering facials, massages, waxing, and herbal nutritional counseling.
