Brought to lower Manhattan by Marilyn Barnett and Sarah Margolis four years ago, this modest sanctuary specializes in Bikram yoga, where all pretzeling is practiced in a room pumped up to a tropical 104 degrees. Georgia Balligian teaches a weekday Bikram class in which she'll convince even the clumsiest beginner that he or she is practicing with great aplomb. Yoga Connection's small space is one the most spic-and-span yoga spots in the city; even the locker rooms, complete with showers, smell herbal-fresh. We didn't think twice before dropping our chins to the clean carpet in preparation for the cobra floor pose.
