Chez Panisse
Chez Panisse is the California cuisine landmark where celebrity chef Alice Waters continues to revolutionize American fare. She handpicks seasonal, locally grown organic meats and produce and cooks with simple, Southern French and Northern Italian techniques. Housed in a rustic Berkeley building, unpretentious Chez Panisse is THE Bay Area restaurant. Reservations are essential if you would like to partake in the daily prix-fixe menu, but if you can't get in, check out the upstairs café and its a la carte menu.
