Vista Point is the perfect place to play hooky for a couple of hours or take a lunch break with a friend. On a clear day it has one of California's most breath-taking views, and is only minutes from the city. We prefer the west side of the highway, where the cliffs rise to meet the looming mountains. Views of Marin, Angel Island, Alcatraz and the Bay's landscape will give you a greater appreciation of our fair City. Just over Golden Gate Bridge, the parking lot is packed out weekends, so we suggest you make a mid-week excursion. It is a superb stop on the way out of Sausalito, after an enchanting breakfast at the Alta Mira.
