Hengst is a line born straight from the San Francisco style scene. Head designer Susan recently put down roots in Brooklyn after years in S.F., but the line still retains a distinct Cali-vibe. All the pieces have a flowy, fluid quality about them; great knit dresses with a vintage, '70s-inspired feel, high waisted jeans, and fashion-forward jumpsuits are all found in house. Unlike big time department stores or boutiques that are overrun with superflulous stock, it's nice to know that at Hengst, you're buying from a place that actually makes the clothes! There is a workshop in the back of the store that's visible to customers - an amazing behind-the-scenes look at the fashion production process.
