Awash in natural light, this spacious, modernist gallery connects brides with well-tailored, unique dresses, without labelmongering or snobbery. Karen Metz, herself an industry insider since mentoring with Priscilla of Boston (who outfitted the Nixon girls and Grace Kelly's bridesmaids), heads a friendly staff of styling, fitting and sewing experts who take pride in their collection of dresses. Since the salon has such warm relations with designers like Richard Glasgow, Wearkstatt, Peter Langner, Ulla-Maija, and Suzanne Ermann, clients enjoy custom proportioning, muslin pre-fittings, and incredible onsite alterations. Designers will even fly in from Rome or New York for consultations. With the motto "happy, light, joy," it's no surprise that more than 3,500 brides in 17 years have exited triumphant from this Maiden Lane salon.
