The Rotunda is one of those places you know is there (it's visible from the street) but probably don't think to frequent. You should. The Rotunda is at the top of Neiman Marcus under a magnificent stained glass dome making it arguably the most elegant restaurant in a department store. The tea service here rivals those at fine hotels omitting none of the compulsory fare--sandwiches, scones, and petits fours. The booths are comfy but the tables by the window are premium and worth the wait. If conversation wanes, let your gaze drift to the Union Square bustle below or watch bride's-to-be try on dresses at Saison des Brides directly across the way.
