Located in the quaint hamlet of Glen Ellen in Sonoma, The Gaige House feels like an under the radar, secret spot. The small-ish inn offers 22 impeccably designed rooms, many with Cali-Asian flair. Our creekside Zen Suite offered a 2,500 pound Asian-style bathtub carved from a full granite boulder and a dual-head shower that kept us busy for quite some time. We hopped in for a soak, hopped out for a rinse, then repeated – at least 5 times in 24 hours. With full size Fresh products in each of the bathrooms, getting clean has never been so much fun. The view from the bed looked onto a petite Zen rock garden complete with a babbling fountain. While we were tempted stay in the room soaking up the relaxing vibes, heading out to the pool was a must. We gathered a cache of complimentary treats to keep pooltime fun- cookies from the secret Gaige cookie jar, an iced tea, a cold can of Pepsi – a little extra love that makes lounging poolside extra enjoyable. But cookies do not a meal make - Gaige House offers a serious brunch that will make even the most ardent of foodies excited. Fresh fruit piled high on polenta, eggs over a bed of lentils and spinach…yes please! While there is not lunch or dinner service, guests can take a short walk from Gaige House into town for a bite. And even though we would love to keep this little gem all to ourselves, we’re happy to share our secret. Hey, that’s what BFFs are for.
