Chestnut Street has long been lauded for its impressive array of cafes, bookstores, and shoppes, but there was always something missing, namely a unique boutique with classic ladylike sophistication. But since Two Skirts opened its doors in late 2004, the Marina's fashion crisis was cured. The racks in this high-ceilinged space are teeming with favorites like Chaiken and Tracy Reese but peppering the mix are fresh newcomers like Helen Wang and Bell. But, don't let the familiar names fool you, the their collection is exclusively eclectic which is why you will rarely see repeats (i.e. the same pieces you see in other boutiques) here. Cocktail wear is abundant at Two Skirts and lives along side cozy Scottish cashmere. One of our favorite parts of the whole store is the chic dressing lounge. The individual rooms have clear Kartell Louis chairs - the gold standard for the fashion and design obsessed. Even if you're feeling shlumpy you'll get in the style spirit when you hop on the mini- stage and model that hot Lela Rose number in the store's gigantic 3-way mirror. The no-pressure atmosphere will soothe even the most indecisive shopper, and private perusing is available by appointment.
