Sarah Polley: The Thinking Woman's ScarJo

I loved Sarah Polley in Go! and recently marveled at her performance in the HBO Sleeper "John Adams," which I referred to as Yawn Adams since everybody but Sarah put me to sleep. A few nights ago I watched "Away From Her" with Julie Christie and couldn't believe that Sarah Polley wrote and directed such a sensitive, nuanced film. Polley is an under the radar talent who manages to stay low pro in a high profile industry. It will be interesting to watch her career trajectory since there are few young actresses turned serious writer/directors in this age of Paris Hilton.
