1. Anvil Opens for AC/DCDude, there's a totally awesome eponymous rockumentary in theaters about a Canadian group named ANVIL that is equal parts inspiring, hilarious and depressing. Inspiring because the band members never give up on their rockstar dreams even after 30 years trying, but failing, to hit the big time. Hilarious because the two key band members are easily as funny as anything in Spinal Tap. And depressing for both of the reasons listed above. Well, the depressing part is about to change because ANVIL has been tapped to play a couple stadium shows with AC/DC. Quite an improvement from their recent SF gig, which was opening for their own film in a small San Francisco movie theater in my neighborhood. |
