5. Snooki the Icon?

Snooki, from MTV's Jersey Shore, has infected our pop consciousness and continues to metasticize. An article about this rube boob appeared on the NYT Style Section, a spot I've been coveting for over a decade, and attempts to her edify her likeability. I'm not quite convinced. I will admit that whether it's her signature pouf (hair, belly, or backside), her Oompa Loompa complexion, or her "delicious artlessness," there's something about Snooki that keeps people watching wide-eyed in disbelief for her next move which, I'm sorry to report, may include a book. Let's just hope it's not a book on manners.
