Scarlett Johansson Looks Like....

Darlings,
Spring is a time for renewal. The turn of the seasons always makes us wistful. That being said, Team Splendora did a girl-bonding / beach ritual last week that was truly outstanding. We cast our wishes and dreams for ourselves and each other into the ocean. As hippy-dippy as that sounds, things still managed to get Splendora hectic. Shoes were lost in the ocean, champagne was guzzled in plain site of the cops, and there was a limo striptease. So much for being sentimental.

You tell us What's What
New York Stories
Like Don Henley sings, "In a New York minute, everything can change." That goes for everything in the big city: weather, hot restaurants, who gets into Bungalow and who does not. However, there are some constants. The hot dogs rule, and day in, day out, most everyone who is walking the city streets has a good story to share. Hell, the NY Times has an entire column dedicated to this, Metropolitan Diary. That being said, we have some Splendora Diarists with excellent New York Stories. A few highlights - Lady Shark describes how she accosted a thief and Gina shares about lighting her hair on fire while still trying to look cool. All of these tales put us in a New York state of mind.

The Approachable Face
Let's discuss the "Approachable Face." Clearly Hollywood actresses have mastered this look. When it comes to matters of romance, they are always approachable, attached or not. Think about it, Angelina Jolie always has that face, hence she hooks up with all of her co-stars. Lohan and Paris are notorious for the approachable face, for heaven's sake, they give it to anyone and everyone, including the paparazzi. Why else would they let those crazy yahoos follow them to the tanning salon day after day? On the contrary, icy Russian supermodels? Not approachable. But for all of us regular girls, the approachable face is what you put on (along with your most bangin' outfit) when you are ready to dive into the dating pool. We were recently discussing this phenomenon and came to some conclusions..."venturing from being in a committed relationship to being single can be an interesting transition. While generally accustomed to shying away from potential male suitors, a newly single gal requires a change in attitude regarding availability. Let's face it, sometimes meeting men can be difficult. You can recycle thru ex-es, guy "friends", your girlfriends' high-school guys, heck- even past co-workers, but meeting completely random guys can prove to be challenging. However, it's much easier when you put on your "approachable face"...
