You tell us What's What
Carolina Herrera: A Style Forecast Snapshot
Recently we had the opportunity to sit down with one of the grand dames of fashion, Carolina Herrera. Herrera is the epitome of class, elegance, and grace. When we met her, she was impeccably turned out in her trademark white ruffled blouse, high-waisted trousers, candy red Louboutin pumps, and of course, her CH bag. She told us that dressing an icon like Jackie O. was "inspiring," that brides should not "be sexy" but rather, "romantic", and that the new designers that are of interest to her are the ones that take their individuality seriously. Upon our departure she said this, "fashion is very ephemeral and that there is always something new to come." However, she left a lasting impression on us that we will cherish like a piece of her coveted couture. Here are Herrera's thoughts:

What to Wear: New design talent that is effecting a younger generation is Rodarte, Oliver Theyskens, and Zac Posen
What to Shoe: Manolo and Louboutin. Flats are a must for traveling too
What to Handbag: CH tote
Must Have Accessory: Glasses, so I can see
Fashion Security Blanket: My lipstick - Plum Stain from Bobbi Brown
What to Read: A Women in Berlin, it is a wonderful book
What to TV / DVD: Volver and The Painted Veil
What to Music: Classical or modern music, really anything (but not rap). Lenny Kravitz is great at home
Dream Vacation: Staying at my house in New York. I love my bedroom. But I also like Greece, especially Patmos
Biggest Accomplishment: My 4 beautiful daughters

Reading & Writing
We think that Jessica Simpson may be heading down the path to crazy town. Upon her recent break up with fugly John Mayer, Simpson posted a Britney-esque "Letter of Truth" on her website. She said, "I just got back from spending some time in Europe, and while I was there I visited many museums, and have been reading about different artists. I have also been writing a lot in my journal recently. I was reading a book about Michelangelo...this inspired me to write the below passage - In my life, I ignore my fears too often, but then I'm left with nothing to challenge the best of me. I just remain cowering from my true identity. There is no discovery." Holy lord. We fear that the Simp is about to go down the Britney way. She has it percolating inside of her. Simpson already went Spears-style in her video for I Belong to Me when she lopped off all of her locks. But what is most surprising to us about this whole scenario is that she can read and write. Damn, you learn something new every day.
