The Splendora Entourage |
We love Entourage. It is the most mindless and enjoyable half hour of television. Even though we're a bunch of chicks, we somehow relate to all of the characters on a deeply personal level. We have come to the conclusion that some Splendora personnel are strangely similar to Vinnie and crew. Here's why: Gina is Vinnie: She never carries a bag or a phone. Sometimes a wallet, but even that gets shoved in someone else's bag. She does not drive unless she's hard-pressed to get somewhere and her husband, sister, or an officemate cannot be found. Like Vince, she likes to roll the dice, buy presents for her friends, and most importantly, has a starry outlook on life. Amy is E: Like E, Amy's the voice of reason. She's the resident business woman who reads the "scripts" (Requests for Proposals) and tells us what projects to take. She lays down the law and takes care of all of us. The only major difference between her and E is that Amy is about 2 feet taller. Allison is Turtle: They both drive big black SUVs, share a sneaker fetish, and run their respective day-to-day operations with flair (there's a lot of "Heeyyyyy ALLISON" in the office). Allison is always the one to procure the goods, get us on the list, and line up the sponsors - all so we can roll in style. Karen is Drama: Like Drama, Karen likes to make sure the team is well-fed. She will man the BBQ at office functions and bake the banana breads for celebrations. She does some light TV work, but like Drama, is always in a supporting role. But with Drama starring in the hit series Five Towns, and Karen's upcoming spot on E!, you never know where the cards will fall.*Photo licensed to: Photorazzi.com

Dependables & Sponsors |
On a very feisty and wine-fueled Ladies Lounge Night, us gals got to talking about the men in our lives. We asked one woman how she met her current fiance and she said, "we were Dependables in college." We exclaimed, "Dependables? What's that?" And she responded, "You know, your go-to guy, a friend with benefits but with no committment." Wow, a Dependable sounds pretty ideal. He gives rides to the airport, hammers in nails, does the heavy lifting, and is always available for a movie / dinner date. But for some girls, a Dependable just won't do. It's too much togetherness. These are the girls who like to have Sponsors. No, not like the kind of Sponsor who keeps you from falling off the wagon, but rather, a man who buys trips, silk scarves, perfume, and bags. For some this is empty, for others, it's fantastic. So whatever your man-type is your type, do what works for you.
