5 Reasons to love "Knocked Up"

What to See: The True Colors Tour

Darlings,
A portion of Team Splendora flew East this week to tear it up in NYC. While it is always fantastic to hang with the ol' Officemates, we were thrilled to spend time with Ladyshark, one of Splendora's NYC-based Star Diarists. It warms our little heart that we connected with Ms. Shark via her member profile in our BFF Lounge. Not that we want to get all eHarmony and sappy, but your Splendora soulmate is out there, waiting to connect via your shared love of thin crust, lip gloss, and New Kids on the Block. So create, update, and decorate your profile. True blue BFFs are waiting.

Mid-Year Resolutions
2007 is already half-over. Shocking, especially when we think back to the blistering cold days of January and those nagging New Year's Resolutions we made and vowed to keep. Truth be told, most of us haven't done half-bad; on the whole we're fitter, healthier, happier, more productive...and so on. But don't fret if you haven't morphed into a gym rat or started to floss more; there's still time to make some changes that would Stuart Smalley proud. We've taken some of the most common resolutions, flipped them upside-down, and made them simpler, more attainable.

1. Lose Weight: Don't fret about your waist line, lovelies. Go organic this summer and enjoy the best of healthy, seasonal produce instead. After that, treat yourself to some luxe lingerie. Trust us, donning slinky La Perla pieces can be an instant confidence booster.

2. Learn a Foreign Language: Start small. Rent some Almodovar flicks; let Edith Piaf be the soundtrack for your next pool party. Expose yourself to the beauty of another culture and you'll want to learn more.

3. Get Outta Debt: Yeah, this is a big one, and we're no Suzy Orman. Try taking it easy at the end-of-summer sales, for one thing.

4. Floss More: Even we can't think of a creative way to work around this one.

5. Volunteer More: This is one that everyone should do, really. And with plenty of great causes, there's no reason not to. Do your civic duty by vowing to ignore all coverage of Paris Hilton and turning your attention to a more worthy cause.

5 Reasons to love "Knocked Up"
It's well on its way to grossing $100 million at the box office, so we suspect many of you have already checked out Judd Apatow's sweet 'n stony romantic comedy, "Knocked Up." Any film that manages to satisfy the highfalutin taste of A.O. Scott and frat boys alike must be brilliant. In brief, here's why: A self-deprecating Ryan Seacrest cameo, deadpan humor from SNL's Kristen Wiig, a tender and honest portrayal of relationships, a Las Vegas road trip sequence that left us clutching our stomach in pain, and casual, hilarious pop-culture references. (Eric Bana is, indeed, "the man.") Sorry for the tardy review, but this summer flick deserves more attention than dueling pirates, surfing penguins, or gone to the dark side superheroes.

What to See: The True Colors Tour
This summer's hottest tour has got to be True Colors. The show was conceived by Cyndi Lauper in an effort to give back to the LGBT community for their fervent love and support. The tour features an all-star lineup that includes Cyndi, Erasure, Debbie Harry, The Gossip, The Misshapes and more. And to ratchet up the entertainment factor, Margaret Cho will MC each gig. Rosie O'Donnell, Rufus Wainwright and others will pop up on select dates too. The tour aims to bring together Americans to "voice their solidarity against discrimination." One dollar of every ticket sold will benefit the work of the Human Rights Campaign. A great lineup and a great cause.
