what to care about: chinese government punishing human-rights advocates

i'm guessing this link was too long for my "what to" list.  i'd copy/paste highlights, but the entire article is great.  even steven spielberg is getting in on the action.  GOD BLESS AMERICA and our freedoms!!!!!

It's sad....

I wanted to go to Bejing so bad to work on my kindergarden level Mandarin, truly exsperience the food that I love the most, and hang out with a good friend. However for the very reasons that Spielberg won't participate I won't either. I'm not going to sit here and just scold China for the Human Rights attrocities it allows to happen for finacial gains, because unfortunately it's not something China wouldn't do to its own people if the resources were there to exploit. The fact that Nation that claim to be "superpowers", "democracies", and full of "freedoms" etc have sat by and allowed this to happen and are basically partners ( finacially benefits) in all of China's crimes. Sometimes the witness to a crime is just as guility as the criminals themselves.
