Lookin' Good while Participating in Sporting Activities

Last night I had a conversation about women who wear makeup while participating in sports.

I have no shame in saying that I have put on makeup prior to working out
(note: Santa Monica Equinox is a great place to meet people and spot celebs),
playing soccer (coed that is) and skiing. I have done this admittedly,
because I would be in contact with others, specifically those of the opposite
sex.

Nevertheless it if far more common for me NOT to put on makeup before a sports
game than to put it on. My Mother on the other hand, who has remarked in the
past that a particular lip gloss of mine would be great before going to the
gym, clearly thinks otherwise. She always wears makeup before tennis.

So my question is, do we as women put on makeup before a game, workout etc.,
because we want to look good in public or because it makes us feel more
confident and therefore we play better?

I say both!

personally

for me it's all about feeling good in my own skin: makeup on or off. i am guilty of putting even if it's just a concealer and a dab of mascara on before i go out the door, always.

Gym makeup = Clogged pores

The only time I have makeup on my face at the gym is if I head there straight from work. If I go in the morning I always feel like a new person b/c I walk in and workout looking like I just rolled out of bed but I walk out of the gym fresh, showered up with a cute outfit and makeup on :) There's no point in putting on makeup before you are about to get all sweaty.
On the other hand, I will wear light makeup before heading to the beach--similar situation since you are destined to get wet/sweaty/sandy. But in this case it makes me feel prettier to have some bronzer, mascara and lipgloss on, especially in places like Playa del Carmen, Brazil or Ibiza...

I think it may be a combination ...

of both public and inner issues that have some women wearing makeup to the gym. I for one don't put on makeup before athletics or the gym because for me during those to activities are for my health and over all happiness not for anyone elses it's my personal me time. When I see women with makeup on in the gym etc I don't take them seriously. What's worse than the makeup is when women or men that wear perfume/cologne to the gym. BLAH

:)

NO, NO, NO.......you should never wear makeup for working out. Even if it's for the oppposite sex they need to know that you mean business and are force to be reckoned with. I personally think it's a strange feeling when you sweat while wearing makeup. Be yo, be real be natural. And then take a shower....and put you MAC studio fix back on, LOL!
