4 lbs.

So it's been almost two weeks since I joined Jillian Michaels and I lost 4 lbs! I've been working out 4-5 days per week after work and I really feel good. The workouts that she gives you are tough but I like that and the food she recommends takes time to cook but they're very tasty and there's always the eating out option.  I'm just proud that I've stuck to it so far and that the scale is going in the right direction!

Day 1

So I joined Jillian Michaels website. For those of you who are not familiar with Jillian Michaels, she was the kicka$$ trainer on the first few seasons of The Biggest Loser. Her approach makes sense. She gives you a weekly calorie budget and each day you have a set amount of calories but each day is different than the last to add up to the weekly number. For instance, today you may have 1200 calories to consume but tomorrow, you will have 1400. This way, your body is constantly working to get used to the caloric intake.

She is also an amazing trainer and I really need to get my butt in gear. It's May 1st. And I want to be somewhat fabu this summer instead of a pasty whale!

Shopping as a Reward

What is the deal? I know what to eat, I just don't eat it.

I had a muffin this morning for breakfast. SO not what I was THINKING about having but completely what I wanted. I did NOT work out last night either. I want to be fabulous this summer but I'm going to wind up being a beached whale.

I'm setting up a reward system. Since Shopping is the ONLY thing that motivates me in life, I'm going to allow myself a gift for every 5 pounds lost.

Hopefully this works.

Summer is coming. Each time I think about it, I hear that Darth Vadar Theme playing in my head as I continue to gorge myself with chocolate chip muffins, grilled cheese sandwiches and tortellini pasta. I've been doing some research on the web about various diets -- Fat Smash, Sugar Busters, South Beach -- the best reviews I've read are for Jillian Michaels, a diet and exercise system I got the book and videos for and never began. 

Tonight, I'm reading the important chapters and starting the stupid diet tomorrow. I will exercise tonight and I will NOT hear Darth Vadar's theme when  I think of getting into a bikini anymore.
