Getting rid of those dark circles...

So...the past few days I haven't had much sleep which leads to me have
those lovely dark circles under my eyes. Luckily, with a few good
makeup tips - its not that noticeable. A year back, I purchased a concealer from Lancome called Photogenic and I feel like its worked really great for me. I apply the concealer underneath my eyes and then I apply a lil bit of Bare Escentuals Concealer
, and top it off with my BE mineral foundation and then the BE mineral
veil. You can also add a lil bit of eyeshadow and highlight the inner
corner of your eye to help.  Good colors from MAC are Nylon & Crystal Avalanche.  They key here I feel is the photogenic combined with the BE concealer. It really gives that awake look!I also found this video from Allure on youtube, that has some great tips. Beauty 101: Dark Circles

My NEW NARS BLUSH

So, currently I am using bare escentuals thistle, but I started to feel
like it was more of a winter blush and didn't really brighten and
highlight my cheeks for that summer look. I started looking into NARS
blush and saw that it had great reviews. I went to Sephora and checked
out all their blushes. They are really pretty, but def. a lil bit more
on the pricey side. But, I am all about buying a product whether its $5
or $25 as long as its good and does the job. The blush I ended up
buying was NARS-Torrid.
Its a peachy pink and a great summer blush. I will be sure to post my
reviews next week after I test it out. Has anyone ever bought Nars
products, if so..what do you think about them? This is my first NARS
purchase but seems like this product has great reviews. I have def.
seen a bunch in fashion magazines. http://fusionqueen.com/

DazzleGlass....

I found myself at the MAC counter after a few months and I was sucked
in(of course). Lately I have been really into having dramatic eyes and
natural looking lips, blush, etc. I bought the Sugarrimmed MAC DAZZLEGLASS.
The is absolutely AMAZING! I got the natural one since my lips don't go
well with glossy color. It is extremely sexy and gives your lips that
plump look. It is perfect for a night out on the town or a romantic
dinner. http://fusionqueen.com/

Who Am I?

Hello Splendora Friends,

My name is Ekta. I am new to the Splendora Community. I have
already posted a few blogs but I thought I’d introduce myself so you can see
where my thoughts and insights are coming from.
I am not only new to Splendora but I am fairly new to San
Francisco. I grew up in NY and recently moved to San Francisco. Almost 2 years ago on 7/4/06 I tied the knot
to this amazing man and moved out to the Bay Area. Our wedding was full of your
traditional Indian customs with an American twist. The lil fame of our wedding – the Wall Street
Journal wrote an article about our first dance that was hosted on youtube..you
can check it out here.
Fashion and Make-up is my life. Ever since I was little I
always wanted to be up to date with the newest trends and would explore all the
different make-up brands. I came across a few favorites – like Mac, Bare
Escentuals, Loreal. I am the girl who throws all the ladies nights and who my
friends come to for tips and tricks. My obsessions include shoes, bags, and
eyeshadow!
Not only does fashion and beauty exist in America but the Indian
community also has its share. Whether it be a pretty new shawl, a really fancy
sari or a great henna product to make your hair that silky brown – we ladies
discuss it all. Being Indian has allowed
me to make my styles and thoughts fusion. I love mixing the two and the result is always a
plus.
So there you have it, a lil blurb about who I am. I am
really excited to be part of the Splendora Community and enthusiastic to share
my thoughts with everyone.

I am also starting my own blog page at http://efusionfashion.blogspot.com/

Night Time Beauty

Some bed time thoughts...

Throughout the years I've learned that its extremely important to wash your face before you sleep. All the make-up is really bad for your skin. I suggest using equate facial cleaning towelettes. You can buy it from any Walmart. They are cheap and they work very well. It doesn't burn your eyes and it gets all the eyeliner out!

Follow that with some St. Ives lotion and your skin is nice and clean to sleep the night away.

Sweet Dreams.

How to Keep Your Make-up on

I have been through my share of going out at night and looking at myself at the end of the night to find all my make-up off. I have now discovered a few good tips to keep your make up on.

Foundation,Powder: Try using Caudalie:Grape Water before you put your foudation on. This really helps to have it stick. You can also put it on after you are done. This is usually the case when you use a product like bare escentuals.  You'll need something after rather then before. Another thought is to keep your face a lil wet/damp when applying foundation/powder. This makes the liquid stick as well.   I would also try to use a foundation-powder based foundation. I feel that the foundation-powder combo works better to stick on. I have tried the Elizabeth Arden - FLAWLESS FINISH
Flawless Finish Dual Perfection Makeup. This works really well.

Caudalie: Grape Water Harvest

Flawless Finish Foundation/Powder

EyeShadow: The key to eyeshadow is fairly simple. Before applying, use a foundation or under eye coverup on the top of your lid. Same way as the foundation, you need to use something that the eyeshadow will stick to. You can try to use a makeup paint or something similar from mac..that works well. Also, I would suggest sticking with more brand name eyeshadows like mac. A lil more pricey then the drugstore kind but works better.

Lipstick:  A few thoughts on lipstick. I have discovered that the mac -pro long wear is the best to stay on> You actually cannot take it off...you can try to use baby oil to wipe it off. Also, another tip is to dab some press powder on your lips after you apply.

That's all I got for now..More tips to come...

Best Mascara - Loreal Volume Shocking-Good Tip

I have gone through my share of mascaras and the best one happens
to be the Loreal Volume Shocking. It is full of volume and also
lengthens very well. I would suggest after applying, let the mascara
dry slightly then - heat up the eye lash curler slightly and curl away.
This will leave your eyes extremely full and shocking.
