I have already professed my love for the artist Marilyn Minter in a previous diary entry, but I everytime I see her work it just continues to impress me. Her paintings are so clear and hyper-realistic, that it's hard sometimes for me to distinguish them from her photos. So imagine my super excitment when I found out she was one of the artists participating in the Gap Artists Limited Edition Whitney Biennial T-Shirts! Woo-hoo, I'm stoked! I just got my tee this weekend with Marilyn's painting of designer shoes splashing in the mud screened on the front, and there are so many other great artists participating, but sadly most of them are sold out, ugh. The Chuck Close one is already gone, booo, but the others include: Jeff Koons, Glenn Ligon, Barbra Kruger, and more. Hooray for art!
