Five Things on My Radar This Week

1. Linda Farrow Vintage Sunglasses. I discovered this posh brand from my jet-setting BBFs in London and Paris. and broke down and bought a pair today from the only retailer I could find online. They set me back about $250 including shipping but I'm justifying it by referring to a new medical study that underscores the importance of protecting your corneas from the sun.

2. Claire Danes as the new face of Gucci. I like Claire and think she's a fine actress but I don't really understand Gucci's choice? Does this former "My So-Called Life," star exude Gucci chic? I suppose you can make the same argument about Drew Barrymore but Drew is adorable, naturally stylish and on top of her game. I thought most people still thought of Danes as a husband stealing hussy ...

3. One Shoulder Dresses and Tops. Crazy as she may seem, there's nothing off about Katie Holmes' stunning one shoulder Lanvin dress. One shoulder seems to be the preference of many famous beauties (including our own local star, Vanessa Getty). Look for a one shoulder Splendora slideshow coming to a newsletter near you.

4. J.Crew in 2008. I've always had a soft spot for J.Crew but lately I've really been impressed with their collection, catalogues, and in-store merchandising. I walked by JC in the mall the other day and was drawn in by all the bright spring colors. Bravo to the crew at the J.

5. My new GHD ceramic flat iron. For those of you who make the weekly trek to your stylist for a blowout, this flat iron is for you. It costs a bloody fortune at $195 but the money you'll save will exceed the cost within 6-8 weeks. To save my hair from getting fried I let it dry naturally and then flat iron. So much healthier and lasts longer too!
