I have found true love!

The Amazonian Body Bar from Lush is divine!!!

Imagine taking that Land 'O' Lakes stick of butter you love to slather your muffins w/ and rubbing all over your other muffins!

It literally melts into your thirsty skin as you glide the bar  ever so lovingly over your curves!

I love it!

I have grossly overused my first bar...it is very rich and should last much longer than what I have left...

And, I have to admit, I have absolutley no idea what it contains as I am blinded by it's seductive scent and decadent caress....no doubt though that it is chock full of goodies since it is from the folks at Lush!!!

Serge Lutens-Rousse...mmm...so good...mmmm....spicy sinnamon,nutmeg veil...light and sultry, crisp. Like a young couple during a balmy afternoon, stealing kisses in the woods...dirty in a good way.

Ok. I'm having an affair with this perfume...

try Le Labo Iris a soft basic version of the flower, but I liked Fredreric Malle's Iris Poudre...much prettier version.

Very sophisticated floral, yet still modern with vanilla & tonka beans

Oh!!! The Louboutin manicure!!! Oh.....I think I just fell in love.... that's right ladies, red underneath, just like the shoes...mmmm....can't wait. Puts the traditional french to rest for sure..

I have a new blend I am obsessed with...maybe I shouldn't post it though...oops...someone made it esp. for me.

A Latin gentleman I work with totally read me and created this potion just for me. It smells of sweet roses, spices, patchouli ( not the  dead head kind), hints of coffee and vanilla and panties. Yes. Panties. Worn.

All good perfumes smell of dirtiness. All sexy perfumes anyway. All French perfumes for sure.

It's such an American thing to scrub all the dirtiness away. It's good to smell like you've had a little excitment throughout your night anyway.

Try:

1 part Nuit de Noho

1part Westside

1 part Bryant Park

a light dusting of Scent of Peace if skin is lighter

a heavier dusting if skin is medium toned to darker toned.

wear a deoderant not an anti-perspirant( it's healthier for you anyway...get over it).

(It is an industry secret that  the amount of active melanin in your skin determines the way skin holds fragrance).

I have a couple of rituals I do every summer, I'd like to pass along...for sh*ts & giggles...

I live off of olive oil. I drizzle it over avocado toasts w/ lemon juice, w/ sea salt. Yummy. Light, but still filling. Quick & easy.

I use the rest of the salt & oil I use as a body scrub. Rinse the salt off and rub in any excess oil. I rub a pretty intensly, as to roll off any extra dead skin.

 I also sleep w/ the oil in my hair and on the scalp, because I have a relaxer and use a flat iron often, so my hair can get pretty damaged.

Sometimes, I'll do an acid peel ( a gentle one in summer...light alpha-hydroxy, or even a little yogurt & lemon juice) then a vigorous upward stroking massage w/ a apricot or sesame oil on my face and decolltage. Only if I'm not sunning anytime soon though...

Bronzers are my friends during summer...Becca had a great one last year. A small creamy container of dark brownsugar sun, perfect for medium and darker complexions...

I am obsessed w/ nude lips and dark brown smudged eyes for summer. I love Sephora's No.11 sheer lipstick. A nude golden lip w/ hints of cool pinks and iridescent purple! Yum! Of course, MAC delivers a perfect smudged lid w/ just a few strokes of Teddy liner all along the eye. Sweep up, cat-like for extra sultry orbs.

I paint w/ Cajun Shrimp from O.P.I. and wish I could find Tahitian Twilight from them still...it was the polish version of the lip I descibe above....damn!

I still have not found a better mascara than Definicils. I personally need length and separation, so for me, this is the ultimate stand by...

American Apparel is my go to for summer ease. All I want is a long tank top dress and wife-beaters( I know-not P.C.)  in the summer any way, so here ya go.... I like their swinsuits too, even though I don't swim! 

Last but not least ( because you are never dressed until you have your perfume on)...

I love Florida Water for summer! Yes, that two dollar alcohol based splash that smells of cinnamon, orange, and cloves....yummie! It also feels really cooling on the back of your neck in hellishly hot weather!

Diptyque's Olene...A rich and heady white floral.

Santa Maria Novella's Barofano...a sexy Carnation, perfect for evening seduction.

L'Occitane's Eau de 4 Reines....a sweet, demure Rose.

For those not hip to florals...

Coney Island from Bond No.9 is a lime margarita perfume w/ hints of chocolate, carmel, and cedarwood....and, if you can still find it, Isabella Rosellini's basil based fragrance is light and sexy herbacious sophistication in a bottle!

I have been in the beauty industry my entire adult life...13 years. I love it. I couldn't be in any other industry, I think, and love it any more. I am truly blessed to be in a career I love!

That being said, I am increasingly disgusted with the ugliness I encounter so often in my field.

Why is the beauty industry so ugly? Aren't we here to add beauty to the world? Doesn't that start on a personal level?

I'm over the idea of having to belittle others in order to feel superior and that creativity and art are fueled by exclusivity and prestige.

Now, I'm all for quality and luxourious products and services, but delivered in an uplifting, positive way that invigorates and enlightens others.

Just grow thicker skin, you say? Yeah, whatever...this goes beyond that...

It especially disgusts me because this is the one industry where we, as women, should rise up and HELP EACH OTHER!

Am I alone? I don't think so...
